Live Kolibri Swimwear - Fashion Presentation
Event: Miami Swim Week "The Shows" - 5/30/25
There is no Swim Week production that compares to Miami Swim Week "The Shows". Every summer they take their production to the next level and their popularity has grown so much that they needed to move the event to a larger venue. This season, the venue which played host to this event was the Mondrian South Beach Hotel and one of the Amazing designer brands to showcase their latest collection was "Live Kolibri". We had the pleasure to interview the Alex Vidger who is the Co-Founder & Creative Director of "Live Kolibri". She stated:
At Miami Swim Week, we showcased our signature men’s swimwear, which we launched last year and have become known for. But, the true highlight was the debut of our women’s swim line. This marked a major expansion for Live Kolibri as we introduced seven stunning swimsuits and two elegant cover ups for the very first time. We also launched men’s resort wear, with two elevated button-up shirts that complement our swim trunks and expand our offering beyond the beach.

What sets Live Kolibri apart is our unwavering commitment to sustainability and timeless design. Our pieces are made from 99% recycled ocean plastics and crafted to outlast trends. We design with a strong rejection of fast fashion, choosing instead to create timeless silhouettes and original prints that will remain stylish for seasons and seasons to come. Our approach is all about conscious luxury, quality, and thoughtful design.
What makes our women’s coverups particularly special is the story behind them: each piece is handwoven by women artisans who work from home. Many of them mothers, earning income through their artistry while supporting their families. In every stitch, they weave threads of empowerment, heritage, and purpose, making these dresses as meaningful as they are beautiful.
Another major part of our mission is giving back to the oceans that inspire us. For every piece we sell, we donate $5 to the PADI AWARE Foundation, which supports marine conservation through hands-on ocean cleanups, community-driven action, and education that bridges ocean adventure with purpose. All with the goal of creating a future where the ocean thrives naturally.
The response to the new line was incredible, we received nothing but love and excitement!

Our Co-Founder and Creative Director, Alex Vidger (devil_wears_alex), is a stylist, and the women’s collection was deeply personal. She wanted to create pieces that she would truly wear herself—tasteful, creatively designed swimwear that feels sexy, supportive, and elevated. The vision was clear: a blend of boldness and refinement, rooted in originality and quality.
The name Live Kolibri holds deep meaning for our family-owned brand. “Kolibri” means hummingbird in Spanish, and for us, it’s more than just a name - it represents freedom, movement, and a spiritual tribute to our late grandfather. We’ve always felt his presence in hummingbirds, and this connection adds a layer of personal legacy to everything we do. “Live” reflects our values: to live confidently, sustainably, and boldly. It’s more than fashion, it’s a lifestyle.

In the next five years, we envision Live Kolibri becoming one of the world’s leading resort wear brands. We’re focused on expanding both our men’s and women’s lines and continuing to showcase on international runways. We aim to grow into luxury resorts, concept stores, and eco-forward marketplaces, aligning with partners that share our commitment to sustainability. Philanthropy is also central to our vision. We plan to deepen our environmental impact through larger-scale ocean cleanups and partnerships with global nonprofits that support sustainability and marine conservation. For us, fashion and purpose are inseparable.
Showcasing at MSW "The Shows" was a powerful moment for Live Kolibri. The energy, creativity, and exposure elevated our brand and allowed us to connect with press, buyers, and like-minded designers. It opened doors to new retail opportunities, solidified relationships in the fashion community, and gave us a platform to amplify our sustainability mission on a global stage.
We left inspired, empowered, and more confident in the path we’re carving. We are deeply grateful for every opportunity, and feel incredibly lucky to have shared our newest collections with such a vibrant, fashion-forward audience.

Deja Natei's thoughts from covering Live Kolibri
Deja Natei is a fashion model, blogger and influencer who covered Miami Swim "The Shows". She gave us her perspective regarding this Amazing collection by Live Kolibri.

"What I loved most about the Live Kolibri collection was how it beautifully combined sustainability, affordability, and style. It was clear that functionality was also a priority and the energy from the models was electric! One model even skipped down the runway and did a flip, and impressively, the swimsuit stayed perfectly in place. That’s exactly what I look for in a swimsuit, something that moves with you without risking any wardrobe malfunctions. The collection was fun, fresh, and wearable.
Ayinde Warren brought incredible energy to the runway. The moment he stepped out, you could feel his confidence radiate throughout the room. His presence was magnetic and the crowd was clearly captivated. Talking with him on the red carpet was just as impressive, he’s truly passionate about health, wellness, and uplifting others through his journey. He has such a warm, humble spirit that makes you feel like you’re chatting with a good friend. His authenticity shines both on and off the runway."
Rachel Pizzolato Walking for Olivia London during Miami Swim Week "The Shows".
One of the models who walked the runway wearing a beautiful garment from Olivia London's collection was Rachel Pizzolato. Rachel has been modeling since she was about 5 years old. She started with pageants and was invited to do a Harley Davidson photo-shoot that same year. Rachael stated "It was so much fun! I’ve always loved the glitz and glamour of pageants and walking the runway. It is so exciting to be part of such an amazing production and to meet all the models and designers during Miami Swim Week".

Rachel wore an incredible bright multicolored bikini and a cape with a matching head cover. The material was very soft, and the cape flowed as she “Slayed” the runway - It was her favorite design of the entire event! Rachel also stated " I’ve walked in Miami Swim Week previously, but this was my first time walking for Miami Swim “The Shows.” I had such a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute. Everyone was so nice, and the event was so well organized. I can’t wait to do it again next year!"
Rachel shared with us her goals for the next 5 years and beyond: "I want to continue working with GUESS and Paul Marciano because the overall style of the GUESS and Marciano brands fit me perfectly. I also dream of working with Victoria’s Secret and Sports Illustrated and getting the cover of Vogue - Hey, You got to “Dream Big!” I am currently doing both modeling and acting and just finished shooting two movies. One is an action film called “Censor Addiction” where I fight Mr. Universe, Mike O’Hearn. The other is a horror thriller called “Round The Decay” where I star as the monster and cause all kinds of chaos. Halloween 2024 is going to be very memorable! I am also starring in two sci-fi/action movies called “An Encounter” and “Angel” which we will be shooting later this summer. I want to continue focusing on both modeling and acting and using my love of beauty, science, Comic-cons, and sports to expand my reach into those fields. I feel that honing my skills in everything that I love to do will only be beneficial in my career".
