Model Spotlight - Featuring: Mina Jay
NYFW comes around twice a year in New York City and each time up and coming models have an opportunity to walk the runway hoping to be discovered & get as much exposure as possible. Mina Jay was one of those models that participated in NYFW powered by Art Hearts fashion. During this event she walked for The Black Tape Project. Mina is an experienced model from Iran and is currently a student in fashion design at FIDM. She is Persian and lived in Dubai but recently moved to the U.S. Her inspiration to strive for success comes from her beautiful mother.
As Mina walked for The Black Tape Project, she wore a black cape around herself. As she opened the inside of her cape, there was writing which read "Stop Executions In Iran". As she turned around, the outside of her cape read "Women, Life, Freedom". Mina states "It was such an honor to walk in this show and be able to support the people of Iran in New York Fashion week. The situation in Iran isn't good and it isn't easy to be a voice for them." Mina was thankful to Joel Alvarez for the opportunity to express her message during his show. She loves to work with brands that showcase her modeling skills worldwide.
